Hello and Welcome!
My name is Niamh, pronounced Neve, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC)and Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (PMH-C). I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from City University of Seattle and I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Central Florida. I trained as a therapist in a Community Mental Health organization where I completed my Practicum, Internship, and Associates license. Prior to that I worked for a Behavioral Health Company in both their Crisis Unit and Detoxification Unit which was a huge motivating factor for my journey to becoming a therapist.
My family and I immigrated to the United States from the Republic of Ireland when I was a child. This experience has helped to inform who I am as a therapist and a person; which helps me to connect with clients from various cultures and backgrounds. I am married with 5 children, 1 of whom is a bonus child. My favorite hobbies are reading, traveling, planning, and spending time with family.
As a therapist, I utilize Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Motivational Interviewing techniques. I believe every client’s needs are different and there is no
“one-size fits all” approach. In your session’s with me, you should expect a warm, empathetic, non-judgmental person to accompany you on your journey through therapy. It is my aim to provide compassionate, helpful therapy on a personal level with my clients. If I feel that your needs are better suited to a therapist with another specialty, I will refer you to another therapist so that you can be successful.
At this time, I am currently only taking tele-therapy clients who live in Washington State.
